Johnny Silverhand
Johnny Silverhand was the famous lead singer and rockerboy of the band Samurai in the first decades of the 21th century. Like his band collegue Kerry Eurodyne, Johnny persued his own solo career after the band breakup in 2008. Often the two played concerts together.
Born as Robert John Under, he listed in the US military and fought in the Central American Conflict. The war was based on corruption, manipulation and became a bloodbath. Robert was one of the many deserters, but the government made the public hate them nonetheless. He went back to Night City and started a new life as Johnny Silverhand, his cybernetic arm gave him the idea for the name.
Johnny then started the band Samurai with Kerry Eurodyne, Denny, Nancy and Henry and they had huge success with their rebellic music. After the band breakup, he persued his solo career and released his album called "SINS of your Brothers" with more insight into his life as a deserted and the corrupt government.
Everything changed for Johnny in 2013, as his girlfriend Alt Cunningham was kidnapped by Arasaka. They wanted Alt to create a software called Soulkiller, because she was one of the best programmers at that time. The Soulkiller should download a netrunner's mind, killing the brain in the process.
Johnny made a plan to rescue her from the claws of Arasaka and planned a concert of Samurai right in front of the Arasaka Tower in the City Center. He infiltrated the tower after sending his fans into the fire of the security guards to cast a distraction. But it was too late, Cunningham was already dead. However, she uploaded her mind into the Araska mainframe computer, and Johnny swore to get her out.
On August 20 2023, Johnny started his mission to free Alt Cunningham with the solos Morgan Blackhand a Rogue. What happened then is part of legend, because a mini nuke was detonated, destroying Arasaka Tower and most of the City Center causing over a million citizen's death. Rumor has it, that Adam Smasher, the borg on Arasaka's side, gunned down Johnny Silverhand, killing him.
In Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny Silverhand is played and voiced by Keanu Reeves and constitutes a large part of the main story of the game.
